High Density Closed Cell Foam Cores
Specialist high density closed cell foam is used throughout the hull, deck and bridgedeck structures. All mouldings are vacuum formed using tested osmotic resistant Isopthalic Polyester Resins with Biaxial & Triaxial cloth's, vacuum compression bonded onto high impact resistant cross linked cores. Below the waterline, hulls are epoxy coated for further long term protection. All main and crash bulkheads are reinforced and tab bonded to increase impact resistance.
Hull & Keel Design
The Calibri X45,435 & 385 all have high underwing clearance with symmetrical fully developed flared hulls that give high prismatic coefficients and excellent performance while also providing high buoyancy reserves and good longitudinal pitch control. Their low aspect ratio keels (NACA) provide excellent upwind performance, also allowing shallow water use and the ability to beach with good rudder and propeller protection.
Solar Panels with Digital Charging System. Cockpit 'Hard Tops' with Opening Sun Canopies (385/435 Models) Forward facing Chart/Navigation & Instrument Tables. Integrated Alarms and Anti-Intruder Security Systems. Solar powered Interior Vents. Twin Helm stations providing secure comfort for two. While the the ergo-metrically designed Cockpits provides Ample Stowage, Storage and allow Easy Access to both side and rear decks.

Built to high standards with internationally recognized materials and equipment, Calibri Catamarans monocoque construction of vacuum formed GRP Foam Sandwich with Closed Cell Buoyancy bring outstanding safety levels, this giving both high strength and impact resistance. Their high density cores also providing insulation from both heat and cold.

At the present time in this fast changing technical area, there would seem to be two leading Companies by reputation. Torqeeda .. a German Manufacture & Ocean Volt .. from Finland, both with proven drive systems and worldwide dealerships. We are able to fit either of these systems as required. And in liaison with these Companies to install a drive system of the most suitable type for the particular model of Calibre Catamaran.. Also the type best suited to the Owners Use and Choice.. There will likely be other choices - Companies and Systems becoming available with the rapid development of new battery technologies etc. Wherever possible we will do out best to accommodate an owner's preferences and fit the required units.
