High Density Closed Cell Foam Cores
Specialist high density closed cell foam is used throughout the hull, deck and bridgedeck structures. All mouldings are vacuum formed using tested osmotic resistant Isopthalic Polyester Resins with Biaxial & Triaxial cloths vacuum compression bonded onto high impact resistant cross linked cores. Below the waterline hulls are epoxy coated for further long term protection. All main and crash bulkheads are reinforced and tab bonded to increase impact resistance.
Hull & Keel Design
The Calibri X45,435 & 385 all have high underwing clearance with symmetrical fully developed flared hulls that give high prismatic coefficients and excellent performance while also providing high buoyancy reserves and good longitudinal pitch control. Their low aspect ratio keels (NACA) provide excellent upwind performance, this also allowing shallow water use and full ability to beach with good rudder and propeller protection.
